Sunday, March 11, 2012 at 1:00pm, The Laurie Berkner Band will be performing at the DeVos Performance Hall. Tickets for this one time Family Friendly LaughFest performance are available thru laughfestgr.org or by calling 616-735-HAHA. Prices are $22.50- $32.50.

The last time I danced to a children’s song was probably in 2006 or 2007. Mary Radamacher was my classroom artist for Very Special Arts. We worked on Music and movement. My classroom consisted of middle school Physically or Otherwise Health Impaired middle schoolers. The classroom is part of GRPS and is at Alger Middle School. She is a multi talented and incredblea artist. We had so much fun. We really got to bring our the child in all of us.

We love Laurie Berkner! We danced to Jeff Kagan’s “Squeeze” earlier today, but dance to Laurie Berkner a lot too, especially “Mouse in My Toolbox.”

We have Friday night dance parties in the living room with 6 year old Audrey, 4 year old Lylah and 10 month old Vivian. Occassionally, we’ll even remember to close the blinds – much to our neighbors disappointment! We also have minivan dance parties on the way to the bus stop in the morning. This includes rolling the windows down and singing at the top of our lungs at 7:30 am. This, however, our neighbors do not appreciate as much.

We sing “I called you on the telephone” when we have to leave a message on our grandchildren’s home phone. Silly as it sounds, we are in our 60′s and usually dance around while singing the message! Hey, we’re old and can get away with such silliness in the privacy of our own home!

I danced this past weekend with my 3 year old to Laurie Berkner’s Thanksgiving song “I am going to eat on thanksgiving day”. We have her CD and play it at home and in the car!!!
I danced with my almost 4 year old this morning to a Cinderalla song while watching the movie this morning, my daughter was cinderalla, and I was told to be the prince! She wouldn’t let me queen.
The last time I danced was on February 20 with my grandson. We danced to Elmo’s Song and he jiggled and laughed thru the whole song.

Sandra Griffin … oh my goodness, my 5 year old LOVES Laurie Berkner! We have been dancing to “We Are The Dinosaurs” a great deal this past week as we recently purchased it for iTunes. My little guy received an mP3 player for his birhtday last week and we had to have this song! It is definitely one of his favorites!
